Each year The Catholic Foundation honors an outstanding philanthropist at its annual gala.
The Catholic Foundation serves as a community foundation and a trusted charitable giving expert that partners with generous individuals, families and organizations to raise the quality of life in our Catholic community and beyond through charitable grants.
On February 22nd, The Catholic Foundation will honor Hank Hermann, a longtime Vincentian and the founder of the St. Vincent de Paul Charitable Pharmacy.
Hank credits his life experience as a member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul as the inspiration for the Pharmacy. “We regularly heard neighbors in need tell us that the high cost of medications they needed was a cause of their reaching out to us. I wanted to help meet that need.”
To launch the Pharmacy was a multi-year process in which Hank was the tenacious driving force. Today, thousands of uninsured Texas residents get their needed medications at no cost because of his vision and determination.
Hank is a founding member of the St. Vincent de Paul conference at Christ the King Parish in Dallas, served as its first President and served on the Diocesan Council Board of Directors.
We are very grateful to The Catholic Foundation for honoring Hank’s dedication to our neighbors in need. If you would like to make a donation in Hank’s honor, please click here.
